I've got an Ubuntu home server up and running and I've also just set up ftp service on it. I got the service up and running and I can view the ftp page from another computer in my house by typing ftp://192.168.1.16 in the address bar. The problem it's pretty much blank. The think is I don't know how to attache a directory on the server to the ftp service. I did set a few things in the /etc/vsftpd.conf file but didn't see where you specify the file path to the upload/download shared directory.

I'm not entirely sure what you are trying to do.. If you are looking to add HTML pages (or the like) you will add them in the directory /var/www/. It's pretty easy to find once you know what it is!
