:'( Anything in my desktop is available. After rebut the machine when I double click on any icon (include the macintosh Hd) the spinning ball of death shows and keeping spinning! try to reinstall java, applejack, disk utilities permission...nothing helps. At least everything in my dock is working. Any one have some tip! Thanks Thanks:)

Jump to PostIt might be a permissions thing. Under /Applications/Utilities, click on Disk Utility. Under the first tab, which is First Aid, click on Macintosh HD which is listed on the left. Then click on repair permissions. Let us know if this fixes the problem or not.

I also have this problem. Started after I migrated to Tiger. I have tried the Disk Utility and Tech tool pro...but it only helps for about a week. Any ideas?
