Hi,
Ive just bought a motherboard, dual core and RAM bundle. I was wondering if i had to set up my XP to run a dual core or not?

Unfortunately yes. I would back up the data you want to keep on your hard-disk onto another hard disk, or other storage device. Such as DVD's/CD's or USB/Flash Drives.
