Whenever I try to uninstall Yahoo! Messenger, I get the following message:

"Error Deleting File or Folder

Cannot delete msvcr17.dll: Access is denied.

Make sure that the disk is not full or write-protectedand that the file is not currently in use."

The file most definately not in use, I know. I went to the System Configuration Utility and shut Messenger off. Could you help please?

do a search for the file right click it go to properties and and take owership of the file and make sure it is not set to read only

It is not a read-only file, but how do I take ownership of the file?

right click the file go to properties then the security tab, click on advance the the ower tab.

IF you dont see these option you will have to turn off simple file sharing. open my computer go to tools option then the view tab then in the advance section scroll to the bottom and remove the check from use simple file sharing.
