Go to Start -> Run
then type the following:
ping www.google.com -tYou can try out other websites, too.

Ping is a good way to see if there is a problem with your connectivity to the internet... Also, once in a GREAT while, only certain website will not come up, and others will display fine... in this case you can try pinging your DNS servers, if one pings, and the other doesn't that's your problem ;)
