Outlook is not showing old Mails

I have configured my gmail account to my outlook n its working fine but my old mails in my gmail account are not showing in outlook. what i have in my inbox r the mails that were sent to me after i had configured outlook. how do i let my old mails show?

Just a guess, but maybe set them as unread in Gmail. Generally the send/receive will only pull down new mails.
