installing win 95

I'm trying to install win 95 into my laptop,which has an external floppy and no cd drive. I partioned and formated the disc and now when I install the first disc all that comes up is "this program cannot run in dos mode". Any help out there!

you are using floppy ,right and when you run setup on the first floppy ,you get this error message, Correct !

any reason windows 95? why not 98 or even 2k? (min requirments for 2k is only 133 and 64megs of ram)

I would have to agree with Faranth on that one. Why 95? The OS is no longer supported my MS help and there are better systems out there
