Hi guys,

I am currently in possession of a friends ASUS Eee PC 900 which needs XP re-installed because upon startup there is an error to do with the system32\hal.dll file. I own a GENUINE Xp disc (which came with my computer) however, the notebook/lappy does not have a Cd drive, I do not own an external one and he's adamant on not buying one.. even tho it's as little as £13.99!!!

I have gone down to maplin electronics (uk) and there techy was pretty confident it can be done??? If so, how??

any help will be greatly appreciated!!

agree with caperjack, but it might be possible to borrow a USB external DVD/CD drive just to do the installation. I use such a drive regularly and have also installed the OS onto the SD memory card...
