I resently worked on a Windows 2000 Pro OS that was on a domain network. I changed it to a workgroup and created a user with limited account type, but when i tried to log in it wouldn't go.An error message popped up saying that the user was not registered to the domain. Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem since the owners do not want to upgrade their OS????

You might try logging in locally with the Administrator account. You can use Hirens 9.3 or later to do so. Active password changer.
