Hi Folks
Recently I've been getting a problem where whenever I try and run video from desktop, whether it be from media player, realplayer, quicktime etc. the computer near freezes up and I get 98-99% cpu usage on whichever player I'm running.
This happens with video being displayed in websites too.
I have all the current drivers / versions. I'm lost. My computer is no slouch either with a 6600gt vid card to boot.
Please help!

What are the specs on the rest of your computer?

amd 3000 2.2ghz
1gb ram

Hi
It just looks like video codec issue or video drivers incompatibility.
Have you tried playing any kinda game. ? Does that work fine ? If that works fine then sure its the problem with the codecs.

Also Check your HD, if the associated files are fragmented, your media
applications may not run smoothly. Try CHKDSK and do a run System Defragger on the hdd.

I play games from BF2 to WoW to Half-life 2
I have all the latest video card drivers

I will try and do a defrag when I get home

Here is my log

Hi I still suspect that its something to do with the drivers.
Was it working fine before ?
Also try uninstalling the drivers and restart the computer. See if XP installs some default drivers. Try to play some video files and see if it still freezes the computer. Then try reinstalling the drivers.

New nvidia drivers came up today, I updated, and still the same damn problem
