Computer freezes up and lines start flashing PLEASE HELP!

hello
my computer is a gateway computer windows vista and it was working fine until yesterday

yesterday i bought a webcam and it had that mini cd thing, and i put it into the cd rom. but my cd rom is vertical, so the cd fell into the cpu inside. it took me forever, but i managed to get it out by tilting the cpu and pushing the cd slide thing back and forth.

then, my computer would randomy freeze, the mouse would die, and then lines would flash around the screen. it wil stay like that for a long time, unti u restart it. sometimes you have to restart it 5 or 6 times before it starts up again. then its fine, but then 2 minutes later, itll freeze again, and lines would flash again.

im not a techy person, and i have no idea what the graphic card is, and i dont know how to get it out. i dont see any way to get into the cpu. so please help, and use simpler terms, and clearer directions

thanks so much
