I found this in a few different places around the 'net - hopefully it's helpful:

Auto Login

  • Go to Start/Run, and type 'control userpasswords2'.
  • From Users Tab, Uncheck "Users must enter ...."
  • A dialog will allow setting a user and password to be used automatically.

I do not see that option, Guessing there is some sort of GP setting inhibiting me from doing that ?

Welcome to Daniweb...

If you click START/RUN and then enter "control userpasswords2" what do you see then?

I get the usual User Profiles box, but do not have the option to allow the Server to log in automatically.

Hmm what options do you see there?? (Maybe there is an alternate way)

Its different in XP home.

An easier way to do it is to use tweakUI. It has a very easy to set up autologon.

The first dialog box contains: "users for this computer:"
The second portion contains the "password for administrator"
Oh and I failed to mention:
it is a member of a domain
3rd Party software would require clearance

tweakUI is an official MS powertoy

it is a member of a domain

I think TweakUI might be the only way to do it........ (It auto logins for you so you dont have to)
