Constipated internet speed with any browser and any connection

When connecting via dialup, cable or DSL, using Mozilla, IE, or FrontPage, opening and all subsequent pages take 5-8-10 minutes EACH :mad: .

I'm running XP Pro on a Dell Inspiron 7500 laptop. 256mg memory, 1 gig free on a 12 gig dirve. Intell P3 700mhz clock speed.

I've used Norton Internet Security forever, don't have ANY problem with pop-ups, use Norton Anti-Virus to scan all incoming email, and have a clean bill of health acording to NAV and Ad-Aware.
