I just upgraded a rig with a new MBO/RAM/HDD. The new HDD is a WD SATA. It works fine. The guy I was helping out wanted his old IDE hooked up so he could acess his old files. I was sucessful in doing this, however everytime windows boots it wants to run CHKDSK on this IDE drive. I have let it run once and no errors were found. When I reboot I can abort the check and everything works fine. It sees the old dirve as E: and I can acess it. Any idea why this is happening? Would a format of the drive fix this problem? It is detected as a primary IDE slave at the moment but the same as occured when it shows as a master. I have set the SATA drive to boot first under the CMOS setup. I would be gratefull for any help. Thanks.
