Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close - when I close IE

Hi Guys, I hope you can help

I have Windows XP and EVERY time I close the internet explorer browser, it gives me the same error message:

Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Here is the Error signature:

AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180 ModName: shdocvw.dll
ModVer: 6.0.2900.2518 Offset: 0001408d

Shdocvw,dll can be the cause a lot of different problems ,have a look here ,

Was a solution ever found for this problem? My long-distance, non-technical girlfriend is having the same specific issue with XP SP2. This is the only mention I have found on the web. Looking through the Google search above has not helped.

I was just having this problem with ie 7 and tried disabling a few addons I don't use. It seems to work fine now.
