I'm in need of a gaming rig but don't want to waste my money on a new laptop with a dedicated graphics card that I probably won't be able to upgrade. My idea is to invest in a good Desktop rig since I mostly game there anyways and use a remote desktop connection from a cheap netbook or tablet pc so I can always be on the desktop, even at school. I already use dyndns to perform remote backups, and as online storage space. I have 2 questions:

  1. What kind of upload speeds would I need for this to work? I have 384Kbps, is this enough?
  2. Can I use a tablet pc's handwriting recognition to send text over a remote desktop connection?
