Cannot join domain

I get an error when trying to join to the domain, it says: "The following error occured when attempting to join the domain "DomainName". The network path was not found". Note that this is a VM running in VMware Player 4.0.3, Windows XP Professional. Any suggetions as to what the problem could be?
