internet sharing

hi this is thina,
i am having two pc's i am having broad band internet connection for one system,
i have connected that two systems via cross cabling to share internet, but boyh system coul'd connect with internet. the broad band service people said, due to confilct in gateway this promblem was created,if i remove cross cable then it works.
please help me.

kindly explain more the topology, in my understanding, the computer with the broad band connection has 2 network interface card? 1 for the internet and 1 for the other computer. is that right?

Guys i am new to the netwiorking community,
i was just going through thina's mail he talked about
this broadband internet sharing,, call it stupid but is'nt a peer to peer
used for that kind of a problem, without cross cabling wont that enable thina to share the internet

by the way i am here to learn, tell me if iam on the right track.
