Hi
I'm new here so I apologize if this thread is not in the right spot...I have just finished installing Wndows XP on my Dell d610, and now the CD_ROM can't read anything. WIndows still sees it but if I click on it it says "Please insert a disk into drive D" . while I have a disc inside. It is an LG crn-8245b. I've searched everywhere for an update for this driver but I couldn't find anything.
Any ideas?

Your laptop is quite old. Most likely the drive itself is dead, it happens. You can contact a service tech for yours and see if another drive is available to be installed.
