I need help in deciding which DBMS is best suited to fit my system, would it be MySQL or SQL Server Express. The system is a TPS,it stores and manages job applicants data (name, address, gender, educational level, skills, etc). Since I am only a student and this is just for a project I would have to use FREE database management softwares to run the system. The problem is I don't know which DBMS would I have to choose.

I did use MySQL in creating some Websites before, but I am a little-bit skeptical if it could run a LAN base app. From what I've heard SQL Server Express is best for small scale systems, is it true? Please hit the comments for suggestions. Thank you for your time.

MYSQL is best for less bulky database handling ,in other hand if you are going to handle large database then sqlserver will be best option.
