Hi Guys,
I have a small question.
Think Person A is yahoo email user. Person B is Gmail user.
Person A sent an email with 'Document01.docx' to Person B.
Now, which email provider hosting Document01.docx?
Yahoo or Gmail?
Please explain what is happening to email attachments?

Hi, the attachment is sent to Gmail servers. Yahoo will only deliver the mail.

In practice the email body attachment part is composed by an header and by the content, some examples here:

the attachment is sent to Gmail servers which is now hosting it. the communication between the two servers is continous and have some interraction between them in terms of networking. the moment the email is sent, the Gmail server will save it and check if the email is valid before releasing it to the owner if not it will send it back to the sender. i callede it real time.
