hello,
I'm trying to write a web service using vb.net and i always get a localhost web service how can i write a web service as a server ?

You need to deploy that webservice into server

I've tried to publish the service and copy the files i got into another computer connected
to the network in the wwwroot folder but that also didnt work it keeps asking me for some kind of username and password, am i doing something wrong , please gide me =(

On the server you tried to create virtual directory? What are your steps in deployement? See this link Click Here

The problem is in my ISS i've just installed it on my computer and seems to be the permissions need to be changed , do you have any idea what the permissions are ?

Found out what was wrong my asp.net was not registered and now it all worked ,thank you for your help
