hi i have a dropdown which is connected with a database and containing some sort of items, and a gridview. i want to show only those values into the gridview which is select from the dropdown. for example if i have the following values in to the database:

value item
 1     hostel1 
 2     hostel2

.............
and if i select hostel1 from the dropdown then all the values against the hostel1 should be shown to the gridview???
i waste a lot of time for search on the google but couldn't find some sort of help....
plz help me in this regard
