I run a fairly large website for my company, and 3 times per day we scan google's RSS feeds for relevant content for our site.

This past Friday, we were detected as a bot (surprisingly, first time in 6 months) and prompted to enter special characters to identify ourselves as a real person.

Anyone know a way to get around this? Although everything is working fine today, if this became a regular issue I need some way to handle it.

Thanks.

I forgot to add - scanning their rss feeds for news stories is not illegal.
