passing url parameter from search page into result page

anyone can help me to figure out how to view your result (after searching) in the result page ?
i created 2 page
search.php
viewdata.php

ocay, after i insert an input to the text field for search item, the result (a list) will display at the bottom of the search text box.
next, i also create link from the result to the viewdata.php
however, the data that i need for the item im looking for is null.
i cant figure this out. help me.

do you post your code to identify the error spot?
