I just finished reading an e-book 200 pages of tutorials everything about JavaScript it took me three months to get JavaScript understand. Now I'm thinking what to learn now. My goal is to make web-applications with Java inserting the software to JavaScript which I learned ActionScript can also do the same as Java except its JavaScript. Should I even learn ActionScript or go with JQuery then ActionScript?

Without bad mouthing actionscript... And I happen to be a great advocate of the language ... I would go down the JQuery route as Flash based applications seem to be getting overlooked now.

Jquery is technically javascript... It's just a library so you won't have to learn much more that is different.
