i came accros the term unique file service in the file service archtecture what is it .Thanx in advance..

A unique file identifier is the number which is uniquely assigned to every file regardless of what changes are made in it. Usually files are identified by their unique Inode number which is unique number associated with each filename. This number is used to look up an entry in the inode table which gives information on the type, size, and location of the file and the user_id of the owner of the file.
