What are the advantages of MIDlet over wince.net programs?

Yes and no. You would need to have Windows CE device , to run wince.net, and this should also be loaded with JVM to be able to run MIDlet.

Obvious, there is more JVM enabled devices then there is Windows CE. On another hand mobile .net application has to access to some resources and hardware that is not available for JME on any device.
