Download CWShredder from http://209.133.47.200/~merijn/files/CWShredder.exe & run it. Select the fix button & it will get rid of everything related to CoolWebSearch. Reboot after doing this & post another log please.

Thank you Crunchie. I ddownloaded and ran CW Shredder as per your suggestion and everything seems to be fine. Am attaching the hijack this log just in case, but even after reboot I have my home page back, and no more pop-ups. THANK YOU very much!!

:cheesy:

That looks good now. I suggest that you now go to Windows Update to make sure all your security patches etc are up-to-date.
Also download & instal Adaware from http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=506
& update it B4 scanning.
In settings under 'scanning,' have it set to
'scan within archives,'
'scan active processes,'
'scan registry,'
'deepscan registry'
'scan my IE Favourites for banned URL's,'
'scan my host's file.'
Also in tweaks under 'cleaning engine' set it to 'Automatically try to unregister objects prior to deletion.'
Remove what it finds by placing a check in the box to the left of the object.
Download & instal Spybot S&D from http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=download Update it B4 scanning.
After the scan is complete, have spybot fix everything marked RED.
On the page that first opens when you start Spybot there is an option to immunise, you should do this. In the immunise section there is also a link to download Spywareblaster. Download that & you can keep it updated by selecting the same link that you use to download it.

All this will go a long way to keeping your machine clean. Keep hold of CWShredder too.
All of these should be kept regularly updated.
Happy to help.

Edit. If you want to free up some resources you can have HJT fix these-
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\QTTASK.EXE" -atboottime
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TkBellExe] C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\evntsvc.exe -osboot

But note that they are NOT malware.

 Is res://txwyy.dll/index.html#37049 the same as res://mshp.dll/ index.html#37049
if so or not I can't get rid of it I tried every program such as adware and CWShredder so on.it always appears in the Yahoo start up ip address. The only other thing I thinking of is to wipe the hard drive.

Please run hijackthis & post the log it creates into your own thr4ead & we will see if we can help you.

Download HijackThis from here & unzip it into it's own, permanent folder, (Not a temporary folder or the desktop (in a folder on the desktop is fine) & not directly on your hard drive).
If you have anything disabled in MsConfig, please re-enable it/them.
Start HJT & with all browser windows closed, press the scan button. When the scan is finished the scan button will change to save. Save the log to a text file, copy the entire contents of the text file & paste it into the body of your post. DO NOT FIX ANYTHING YET. Most of what is there is necessary for the running of your system.

Here's my Scaned

I had res://mshp.dll/....#22776 and CWshredder took care of it. NOW I have res://guslr.dll/index.html#37049 and nothing will touch it. I've used CWshredder, spybot, adware 6.0, dsostop. It keeps reasigning my home page back to guslr.dll.... any thoughts out there? I think it has something to do with DSO Exploit, and sometimes it is XerOx. Help, I'm an extreme novice.
