Getting user input on asp.net page

Hi everyone
i am creating a page which generates label and textbox controls at runtime. I now how to do it using inputbox but when i post the code to my site i get errors. is there any way to create an inputbox and retrieve the user input back to the original page. inputbox in vb6 is an example but i cant find the equivalent in asp.net. all i want is to ask a user what the name of the question must be then save the label control as what the user input. I dont want to use java as i am still an amateur but i still need a result.
