Date comparison is a very straight forward thing to do. You find out how by Reading The Fine Manual. Start here (I could be more specific if I knew which Oracle version you are using)

You can use to_char($variavle,'month-day-year') is equal to the second one

What type of comparison are you trying to accomplish?
(Equal Dates, Equal Times, One Date < or > the Other, etc.)
