Because there is far less competition for the top spot.

Lots and lots of different shoe store websites are all trying to rank for “shoes”. But there’s far fewer trying to rank for “blue running shoes with orange laces”.

Long tail keywords have low keyword difficulty. Means not many people are trying to rank for these keywords or paying for those keywords to rank inorganically. Search volumes for long tail keywords are comparatively low but you can rank for them with minimum efforts.

Long Tail Keywords are easier to rank than common keywords because fewer websites compete for high rankings in the result pages of Google.

Hi there,
Long tail keywords seems to be less competitive and not many people try the long keywords. It is easy to rank well and rank earlier using long keywords. For example, hotels are many but "luxurious hotels on the seashore." may be one and only. So long tail keywords prove fruitful.

Thanks.

It’s not just that. It also helps you to qualify your audience. You’re only paying for clicks from people specifically, specifically interested in exactly what your have to offer.

Hello,

Long-tail keywords are more targeted than short-tail keywords. Short tail keywords come under general keywords, which means if you search about the best VPS hosting in Google then you'll get all of the global providers. Apart from this, if anyone search for the best VPS hosting in the UK then Google will show only the UK region hosting providers.
This is the main benefit of long-tail keywords. This type of keyword is easy to rank than other keywords type.

The main thing about long-tail keywords is that they have less competition. Also, long-tail keywords are in more detail and help to find information more easily than short keywords.

Long-tail keywords are much easier to rank than short-tail keywords because of the relatively low competition. They also account for 70% of all web searches, so if you're not focusing on them in your strategy, you're missing out on massive opportunities to drive quality traffic. (Courtesy: Spiralytics)

Because there is less competetion for long-tail keywords related to short-tail. By doing keyword research, you will find that short keywords with 1 or 2 words are too much difficuilt to compete.

You can't rank for "SEO" keyword, but if you attach 2 or 3 more words with SEO such "best SEO tips", "advanced SEO techniques" etc. You will find out that the chances to rank on these keywords are far better than with only "SEO". Keywords with 4 or 5 words are the best to go with.

So, the conclusion is If you wants better results in less time, then always go with long-tail keywords rather than short keywords.

Long tail keywords are much easier to Rank as compare to short keywords because there is a competitive difference. Long tail keywords are less compititive for the top spot. As i am working as Digital Marketing Executive at Expertek Cyber Solutions Inc notices several times that It also helps you to qualify your audience, in case of paid marketing you will only pay for clicks people specifically interested in exactly what you have to offer.

For more understanding lets take a look at shoes example.
There are many shoes store online trying to rank their website for keyword "shoes", but there are very few businesses trying to rank for "white running shoes with black laces".
In Paid marketing when you use "White running shoes with black laces" as exact match keyword then you will be only charged for click when someone specifically seached term "white running shoes with black laces" and clicked your ad lead to your website.

Long-tail keywords are much simpler to rank than short keywords because of the comparatively low competition. They also value 70% of all web researches, so if you're not concentrating on them in your plan, you're dropping out on huge opportunities to drive quality traffic to your website. Long-tail keywords are longer and more specific keyword phrases that visitors use for search.

Ranking for "long tail keywords" is easier because they are typically not "money keywords" aka keywords that match exactly search phrases with buying intention. Because of this, they typically aren't specifically targetted by SEO campaigns, making the competition for them much lower, and thus making them easier to rank for.

For example, ranking for "SEO Company in Wichita Kansas" is easier than ranking for "SEO Company".
Why? Because companies trying to rank for "SEO Company" are national companies running campaigns to rank for that keyword, whereas someone trying to rank for "SEO Company in Wichita Kansas" is a local company with very limited competition.

Long-tail keywords are keyword phrases that are three or more words long and very specific as they are more focused on a niche. For example, if you sell women's denim, your primary keyword would be “women's denim.” These longer tail keywords may have lower search volume but rest assured that search intent will be clearer.
