I bought an open box Hp computer from circuit city before they went bankrupt, and I didn't know that the bios had been password protected. Now I need to access it, does anyone know if they used a standard password for all of their stuff, and what it might be?

Thanx Salem! I'm looking at what you sent now, it will take a while. I'll let you know how this comes out.

Hi Salem. I ran across something interesting as I looked into this further. This link is to a program that resets bios passwords among ohter things. I thought you might find it kinda neat, and it's free. Sadly, it is for 32 bit machines, and mine is a 64. Maybe it will help someone else.

if that didn't work than message me

It worked like a breeze. The password is reset, and I didn't have to take out the CMOS battery and mess up any of the settings.
