Hi,

I am planning to buy Vista 32 bit Ultimate edition in some time. I have been looking around for a good set of hardware forthis new os and here is the one that I like which is a motherboard from Asus.

Asustek M2V AM2 VIAK8T890

http://www.asus.com.tw/products.aspx?l1=3&l2=101&l3=305&model=1171&modelmenu=2

Now I also need to buy a good PCI Express type of graphics card and I have come across the following two. They are from MSI.

GeForce 7600GT NX7600GT-T2D256E

Radeon RX1950XTX-VT2D512E

http://msicomputer.co.uk/products.aspx?product_id=703746&cat_id=78

Both of them support different types of memory ie DDR3 and DDR4 respectively. But when I have a look at the specification of the motherboard mentioned earlier as link, I can't find any thing that says that it can support PCI Express graphics cards with two different types of memory ie DDR3 and DDR4. Can any one please help me with this problem. I am rather new to this hardware scene. Thanks.

May I ask why you aren't getting 64 bit?
That motherboard your looking at: the processor will be a 64 bit one. So buy the 64 bit version of windows vista.

And wait for cheaper directx 10 graphics cards, that's what I'm doing, I have a measily x550 until directx 10 cards are available for under 300 (CAD).

But anyway, to answer your question:

I do believe the 1900 xtx will blow the nvidea 7600 out of the water, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but those cards are in different ranges altogether. The 7900 is what competes with the 1900 from ati

Hi,

Thanks a lot for the reply. Your are right I should go for 64+ bit since the m-board is very much capable of handling the 64+ bit stuff on its own. I will give it a serious thought. Cheers.
