Have you tried System Mechanic? The trial should get you running smoothly.

Didn't relise Packard Bell were doing Lightscribe now? Though that was a Hp-Compaq thing?

Dazza

I going to bring up 2 different issues brought up from the use of sysmech

The pc w/ xp is not mine it is my grandfathers he wanted my help with his pc being slow and he doesn't want to pay the +/-$100 to have someone do it

i read somewhere that this program is more dangerous than a virus so i put it on my pc first, which is running vista

but dumb ass me didn't do any backing-up, restore points or anything like that. now IE doesn't work, Help and Support doesn't connect to the internet, and windows media center not player doesn't connect either. these are the only ones as far as i know of at the moment

but back to system mechanic, i wouldn't know which items to run
there are so many different things to do and they all do so many different things

thanks in advance

any help what either one of these issues would be greatly appreciated

I recently tried to optimize the network connections with system mechanic 7, but since then, internet explorer 7 crashes a couple seconds after starting it, windows live messenger won't connect because internet explorer is set to work offline, windows help and support doesn't connect to the internet, i can't share files or printers on my home network, and theres probably others things that i haven't ran into yet

btw i've got wireless dsl so its pretty much live all the time,

so any help at all would be greatly appreciated

It wouldn't be the first time that System Mechanic has dropped a spanner into the works. Lesseee, top right of its console, options? Try restore or recover.

just restored to factory defaults, to bout 30 min works great. i got the pro version, it was a cracked version so it was free but its not the first time I've got a cracked version of something and it contain a virus or something. but what got me was that Norton usually finds them but rarely doesn't, but i guess if your going to get pirated software your pretty much taking the life of your computer into your own hands. but i won't go anywhere near sysmech again, too much trouble. to many things to work with

if your going to use it make sure you make a restore point
'my big mistake'

Does anybody know why my PC is running slower than time?

Ever since the first time i started my laptop pc it has always seemed to run really hot. It gets so hot sometimes that when i physically touch it i get a wannabe burn that doesn't really hurt but it tingles a little bit. I know that some hardware have temp 'tellers', can't think of a good word for it, so I looked around to see if mine had any. I found that it did. Then I found an app called CoreTemp and it said that my cpu is doing between 130-150. Is that unusually hot?

Either way I blame it on Extremely poor ventilation design, the intake is on the bottom and then blows out the back through a 2"X1/2" opening and about an 1/8" clearance on the bottom

If you ask me it would make more sense to have it going in through the side and out the back, or something close

But seriously is running b/t 130 and 150 unusually hot?

If this is the wrong place for something like this tell me plz

This is how it sometimes works out there in crack land. I write some nice software, it disappoints me that someone makes a crack for it and puts it out there. But hey!, I write software too, so I put my own crack out there anonymously, but mine packs a nasty punch to teach a lesson. Else I load it with pestware like ad downloaders....
You just gotta know your crack groups.
Glad you've got the sys up n running again.
