Hi to my great family at Daniweb !!
I have a HP Pavilion a1250n, Windows XP, SP3
I have Spyware Guard 2008 on it and have tried all I know to do to get it off my computer. When I try to run Spybot, Malwarebytes, it won't let me. It also won't let me install SuperAntispyware. I even tried to run Combo fix, and it won't let me run that either. It won't let me install HijackThis either.
When I double click on one of these programs, they show up in the Task Manager like they are running, but none of the programs install or are running. Spybot is installed but when I hit the shortcut, nothing happends.
I've tried SafeMode also and that didn't help either.
This thing is mean !
How do I get Spyware Guard 2008 off my computer ?
Any and ALL help will be greatly appreciated !!!

Combofix should not be on your computer unless someone has advised you to use it.
Click START then RUN
Now type Combofix /u in the runbox and click OK. Note the space between the X and the U, it needs to be there.

When shown the disclaimer, Select "2"

The above procedure will: Delete the following:
ComboFix and its associated files and folders.
VundoFix backups, if present
The C:\Deckard folder, if present
The C:_OtMoveIt folder, if present
Reset the clock settings.
Hide file extensions, if required.
Hide System/Hidden files, if required.
Reset System Restore.

====

Open Device Manager and on the VIEW Tab, select the Show hidden devices option.
Go down to non plug and play drivers and see if there is one called TDSSserv and disable it.

==

Reboot and start MBA-M if you found the above entry. Update it then run it and remove everything found.

Reboot and post it's log along with an hijackthis log.

Please let me know what to do next. Thank you for always being so helpful !!!

Log looks clean. How is the pc?

She's runnin good !!!
What is this.....
Open Device Manager and on the VIEW Tab, select the Show hidden devices option.
Go down to non plug and play drivers and see if there is one called TDSSserv and disable it
Was that the trogan ?
I am goin to put Avast on this computer instead of AVG. I have updated it also through Microsoft and cleaned out all the old System Restore points.
Any more advice on it ?
