This is my first post and visit to this site so I apologise if I have missed any important info in the readme posts.

My problem in chronological order
I have increasingly been unable to load certain websites on my pc which I can load on the same connection with the same settings on a laptop.

When pinging a website that should have loaded but didn't 0 of 4 packets were returned.

I am having no other problems on my pc. I saw another poster on this website was having a very similar problem and was advised to download the latest version of hijackthis (currently version 2.02).

After a scan with no browsers open the following log was saved.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

How is it now?

Great instructions :)
I'm working on them now and will post the outcome in a (hopefully) short while

Still no luck :(
I performed the instructions twice to be sure, the java page wasn't working so I couldn't replace it. Here is the malware log from the first scan and delete. the second scan showed 0 threats. I was sure to restart the computer. Any other ideas?

Please download ComboFix by sUBs from HERE or HERE

  • You must download it to and run it from your Desktop
  • Physically disconnect from the internet.
  • Now STOP all your monitoring programs (Antivirus/Antispyware, Guards and Shields) as they could easily interfere with ComboFix.
  • Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
  • When finished, it will produce a log. Please save that log to post in your next reply along with a fresh HJT log
  • Re-enable all the programs that were disabled during the running of ComboFix..

Note:
Do not mouse-click combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

CF disconnects your machine from the internet. The connection is automatically restored before CF completes its run. If CF runs into difficulty and terminates prematurely, the connection can be manually restored by restarting your machine.

Run Combofix ONCE only!!

Good to see your still with me here
here is the combo fix log then the latest HJ log

Any better?

No better, just 'waiting for www...' and the page fails to load. I've found that the pages work on the guest login just not on my admin login. My trend micro has also won't activate because 'trend micro can't connect to the web' but then it will download it's regular updates. It feels very odd.
