Hah you have a small amount of infection, but we can all fix it here. Begin by trying to uninstall anything having to do with Empire Poker or Party Poker

After doing this, check these in HJT:

After doing this, reboot your computer into safe mode. While in safe mode, find these files and delete them:

C:\Program Files\EmpirePoker
C:\Program Files\PartyPoker

After this, reboot into normal mode. While here, download Ewido and SpySweeper, (links for both can be found below). After updating definitions for both, run scans with both, saving both logs.

Next, post back here with an Ewido log, SpySweeper log, and HJT log.

Thanks.

I hate to sound like an idiot but.....
When you say check these in HJT, do you mean check to see if they are present in the HJT log?

Run HJT.

Click Do system scan only.

Place a check next to the items above.

Click Fix Checked

Thanks man

Are you still having problems? Please post one more log after you remove it all so we can make sure you are clean :)

I just finished deleting the files in safe mode. I was getting ready to download ewido and post a log but I can post a HJT log right now if it would be faster.

Heh, ya kno what? Just post them all together.

Thanks.

I'm running the ewido scan right now and I'll do a HJT scan when it's finished. Probably will be done in 5 min. How do you know which items are harmful based on a HJT scan? I'd like to learn to diagnose some of this stuff myself for future reference sake

A great place to learn would be www.malwareremoval.com

Here is the most recent HJT log and the Ewido Log. What do you think?

Your log looks clean now. I notice you have a P2P program installed (Safe-Share). Downloading files from a P2P network can be dangerous, so be careful :).

Are you still having problems?

Thanks for the Malaware Removal Link, Looks good. I just signed up to enroll in their Malware Removal University.

They will steer you in the right direction ;)

Thanks a million to everybody that responded to this thread. It's nice to see people on the internet giving instead of taking all the time. I can't wait until I have the ability to help people out like you guys have helped me.

Demented, sorry, alittle off topic, but have ya gone thru MRU?

Heh well I leanred the hard way, but would ya recommend doing it for further training (for me)?

Lastly, would ya say it helps ya overall?

Thanks.

I have worked a few of their more difficult practice logs at MRU yes. But, I never went thru to graduation. I was already pretty well involved with malware when I signed up there.

I would recommend MRU to anyone wanting to learn Malware removal techniques, the teachers are superb in what they do, and are very well known across the Malware community.
