My friend told me his computer had been the victim of various malware, trojan and other attacks. I told him to run AdAware and after doing so, his computer was very messed up. He has no antivirus and needs help restoring his HP Pavilion mx70. He can't get online and it's running slower than usual. Let me know if you need anymore info. He's already reloaded XP Home as a repair fix. Here is his log.

First click here: http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm to get the LSP Fix.
You may not need it, but download it just in case.

Go to Add/Remove Programs and uninstall New.Net (NewDotNet).
If it will not uninstall, or is not listed there - do this:

Go here: http://www.newdotnet.com/removal.html

Scroll to the bottom of the page to Procedure 4 and download and run the New.Net Uninstaller.

Only If you lose your internet connection after running the New.Net Uninstaller, Run the LSP Fix, and click Finish. (Don't do anything else).

That should restore the internet connection.

Post a new Hijackthis log.

I tried 3xs unsuccessfully to remove NewDotNet BUT I also used the LSPFix and am now back online. Is is really necessary to remove NewDotNet and how do I stop the eAcceleration pop-up everytime I turn on my computer?
