Many Thanks

Your log file is clean except for one useless entry i can see that is not critical.

To clear it please run HijackThis and click "Scan". Place a check next to the following entry in the code and close all browser and other windows except for HijackThis, and click "Fix Checked".

It sounds to me as though a malformed LSP may have been installed so the easiest solution would be to reset the Winsock catalog to the default configuration.

Your running Vista so simply right click the command prompt icon in the start menu and run it as 'administrator.
Copy and paste this into the Command prompt:

netsh winsock reset catalog
Press Enter...
Then copy and paste this in:

netsh int ip reset reset.log
Press Enter...

When finished reboot your system.

Thanks for this, i gave it a go, and everything seemed OK for the first 10mins, then it started the Random DNS errors again, It's very Strange, because sites i look at daily will just will show a DNS error, then if i hit refresh it will then load the page.

Should i give a new browser a go?

As another possibility you can try reseting the TCP/IP stack back to installation defaults by copying and pasting this into the command prompt:

netsh int ip reset reset.log

Hit enter and then reboot.

If no luck, see if the same issue occurs with another browser (ie Firefox etc).

I would be interested to know!

Hi Sorry for the delay in replying.

Right OK this is doing my head in now, I have been trying to work with firefox for a few days now and this does exactly the same (page cannot be found, hit refresh, Fine), so i thought i would do a bit more testing on my laptop which i thought worked fine, it actually turns out that i get the exact same problems on my laptop!

So then i thought it has got to be my Line or Router, so firstly i tried replacing my Homehub with a spare Wireless router i have, now the weird bit is that my spare router would just not syncronise, and kept saying there was no ADSL connection, so i couldn't try that, plug my hub back in, picks up the connection but still get DNS errors.

I check the light on the front of my router at the point i get the DNS error and it doesn't drop the connection at all.

Running speed test on my line are good, but it's just these Random DNS errors

Does this look/sound like it could be my phone line?

Thanks for all your time and help on this

Alan

I am having this exact same issue.

@original poster: did you ever get this resolved?
