HI
I am new here so hope i am in the right place. I am running win xp sp 2 ie 7. on my laptop i can no longer access the internet wireless but i can access the internet thru a wired connection. when i am wirless and i enter a web page i get the error message at the lower left screen "waiting for res://ieframe.dll dnserrordiagoff.htm" then the white page that says teh page cannot be displayed . i can boot to safe mode with netowrking but the wirelesss does not work either. i am at a total loss as to what happend. i had a virus/malware issue but i think it is now fixed but perhaps thruough all the cleaning something corrupted a file needed for wirelss. that is just a guess. the little computer icon in the systray says i am connected to my wireless router but i just cannot connect via wireless. one question i do have which may or may not mean anything is that my ip address of my laptop is different when i type ipconfig at a command prompt for the ethernet connection and the wireless connection. Is that important? Just wondering and thanks to anyone who can help. No one seems to be able to solve this problem.

are you sure you are connecting to your own wireless router ,different ip sounds like you may be connecting to a neighbors !

Hi
I believe it is my connection because when i click on the little computer icon to show available networks only one connection shows up which is mine.

ok, so you are using the same computer and browser, correct when you get this ,"res://ieframe.dll dnserrordiagoff.htm"

found this by Google ,give it a look .

"Open your internet explorer then go to TOOLS then INTERNET OPTIONS then SECURITY and then uncheck the ENABLE PROTECTED MODE options then close and open your IE7

I think it is a conflict in the stupid IE7 caused by a spyware or virus.

Just someone take it from here and find the cause.

yes, that is correct. It is my laptop. Today I reset the modem and router (HP had me do that) but that did not help. I just called the service provider of my internet who suggested i call dlink again. There are two other laptops in my home that have no trouble connecting via wireless; only me :( Are you familiar with the Hijack this program and/or do you think there could be some setting there that has taken over my wireless ability? TOday, I also updated the driver for my broadcom wireless adapter. APpreciate your quick replies and any help you may be able to offer.

Hi again
I have seen that suggestion about uncheck ENABLE PROTECTED MODE but I do not have that option available to uncheck... geez, now what. Do you have any favorite spyware/malware/virus checkers that you can suggest? Maybe there is a corrupted/infected file buried deep somewhere that is preventing me from wireless connection. I am soooooooo frustrated.

Hi..Not sure this is relevant or not but while looking through tools and internet options, I clicked on the Advanced tab and there is a yellow circle with black exclamation point at the phishing filter under Security. It is selected to Turn on automatic website checking. This caught my eye. Could this affect my ability to connect wireless? I think probably not but gee, ya never know :)
