HI again.
I'm sorry if this is going to be long, but I thought nit best to tell all up front so you get the whole picture/scenario.
Original Config
On my home PC I have 2 hard drives
C: XP (SP3) &
D: also XP (SP3) so I could boot from D: should the need arose (belt & braces come to mind).
Drive D has 2 partitions , where User data is stored. Although there were a number of accounts on the pc, they all, more or less, have Administrator privs.
What I Did :icon_idea:
I just bought Win7 and did a clean instal by physically removing Drive D so I did not wipe it etc. Formatted drive C and installed Win 7 and then all the MS updates. Checked it all worked ok.
I shutdown and reconnected drive D.
On reboot Win 7 recognises drive D and it partitions. When I tried to access files and folders on D Win 7 prompted me to take ownership, which I did.
My Problem :'(
1. I did a copy and paste of folders to the Window 7 disc, appeard to work, but the folders have no files in them.
2. Via BIOS, I removed the Win 7 boot disk and selected the XP drive (D) Now trying to access the folder and files I get 'Access Denied' even to 'My Documents' whether I am logged on as Administrator or as the owner.
 I ran FreeUndelet but it only recovered a couple of files that were not in the folders I need to recover.
So that make me think :-/ the files are still there but somehow I must have changed their attributes which prevents access. :icon_redface:
I'd be most grateful if someone could help me retreive these files.
Regards
Robert
