This is happening w/ Windows Media, RealPlayer, and Winamp:
The problem is, I just got this video file of a show, and I would like to fast foward past the characters I don't like to focus on certain scenes, however...
I can't fast foward or rewind the video at all. I tried moving the slider or holding down the skip buttons, and they would move foward, but the moment I let go they would resume their positions. Any advice?
What kind of file is it? Some types can't be fast wound.

I have the video file saved onto my computer. As for the RAM, I'm not certain
