Hi folks, been away for a while due to illness and computer upgrade. I recently upgraded my machine and put in a new MB and CPU and Graphics card. Everything else was from the old machine. I've even upgraded Windows XP Home to Windows XP Pro Media Centre Edition. (I did a complete format and clean install). Now then, here's the problem. If I run any program or number of programs the computer is fine and will run for ever and a day. With one exception, browsing the internet. doesn't matter which program I use, IE7, Maxthon or Firefox. Whenever I start to browse the net after 5 mins or so it freezes only to be resolved with a reboot. I wonder if you have any suggestions. I do have HiJackThis available.

My Specs are:

MB Asus Rock AM2NF3 (UPGRADE)
CPU AMD74 Athlon x2 (UPGRADE)
Ram 1024MB DDR2 (UPGRADE)
Graphics Nvidia G-Force 4 6200 (256mb DDR2) (UPGRADE)
H/Drive 0 80GB
H/Drive 1 320GB
DVD-Rom Optiarc DVD RW AD-7170A
DVD-Rom MSI Atapi DVD RW 12X Max

Haven't a clue; best post a log... apart from it just sitting there, browsing has gotta be the least load you can put on a sys.
And that's not a teddybear, that looks like Ee-ore!

is that better? Here's the log file.

There is nothing wrong showing in that log... just wondering if it is something to do with your router and tcp/ip network settings for DHCP. But sorry, that stuff is out of my area.

Thanks for all your help. I've actually reinstalled the router and re-done my network settings, seems to be behaving now, touch wood. Why is it always the simplist things.

Teddy

Glad you're rolling again... the simplest things..? cos we tend to overlook them? must be a societal failing, in that we like to consider the things that do us down as tough n powerful, cos that implies that we may be not so weak?
One day i'll get onto net protocols and communications. One day. Maybe. For the mo the basics are getting me thru.
Cheers.
