Hello, I have been searching around the net looking for solutions to my problem, but none have worked. My issue is that when i redirect using: <meta http-equiv="Refresh" content="0; url=<?php echo $URL; ?>"> The hash tag part of URL gets removed by IE. So example.com/sample#foo will just load as example.com/sample. This happens in all version of IE and appears to be a bug, but the question is how do I get around this issue? Here is the redirect page template for wordpress that I am using: <?php /* Template Name: Redirect */ ?> <?php if (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?> <?php …

Hi, I have a VS2005/C#/.NET 2.0 application in which i'm hosting a web browser control. I would like to offer a "record" and "playback" functionality for web page activity. Meaning- Say a user wants to record a certain sequence of actions like (just a raw example): 1) navigating into a certain web page 2) entering credential information 3) setting two radio buttons on that page 4) clicking login 5) [navigates to another page] 6) selecting a checkbox 7) clicking a button 8) [navigates to the final page] when the user hits "record", I'd like to record these actions as the …

Hi Everyone My website has a simple embedded mp3 player (start, pause, stop) which works fine in IE but I now realise it doesn't work in all the other browsers and that ActiveX is only for IE (it was a pain having to instruct visitors to allow ActiveX to run anyway). Is there a simple piece of code to use to embed an mp3 player (buttons etc) that works in IE, Firefox & Safari (and hopefully other browsers). I have the software to change the format of the audio if needs be. Thanks

It's been a long while since I've been here. I am trying to use Win32 IEAutomation to automate IE to login to SharePoint, read some information, download some files and some other junk. I installed WIN32 IEAutomation. When I run the simple script: use Win32::IEAutomation; my $ie = Win32::IEAutomation->new( visible => 1, maximize => 1); $ie->gotoURL('http://www.google.com'); I get "Could not start AutoItX3 Control through OLE". I have googled this and all of the solutions that I can find don't work. I modified WinClicker to specify where the AutoItX3.dll is - no go. I installed all of AutoIt - no go. …

Hello, I am currently running Windows 8 and am having an issue with Internet Explorer. Even with no programs running, IE constantly opens and tries accessing Outlook.com and hits an error screen from Outlook.com saying the requested page cannot be found. While downloading the virus scanners for the logs, I began hitting a different problem. The Mail app began to also pop up asking me to log in. This was quite annoying since I had to now jump between touch and desktop modes (without a touchscreen), consantly close the mail app and lose hundreds of Outlook.com tabs while also downloading …

I have a bit of script for a footer section that is to expand up, when the user rolls over it - and go back down, when they are not over it. Everything works fine, it seems. But not quite in Internet Explorer. The content inside of the three "ie-curves"-classed boxes is not showing up, for some reason. The animation works fine. and the html inside shows up for a second before the js hides it. But when I mouse over, the content isn't visible (unless I go into quirks mode) I do see a console error saying that at …

Maybe this is on the site already, but I'm going to ask directly. How do you guys/gals test your scripts or websites on all browsers for compatibilty. I'm new to this and would like to know. For the most part I've found that Firefox, Chrome, Safari, and Opera do alright. But Internet Explorer is a pain in my neck sometimes. How do you test your code for older IE browsers?

Your web browser provides a window onto the Internet, but unless you are timely in updating the client you use then, say researchers with security vendor Kaspersky Lab,that window may be cracked and allow a draft of insecurity to blow through into your network, your computer and your data. ![firefoxversions](/attachments/small/0/firefoxversions.jpg "align-right") With the majority of online threats coming from the direction of the web, vulnerabilities in web browser clients are increasingly being used in order to infect networks and compromise data integrity. It's why the so called 'zero-day' exploits are so valuable within the cybercriminal community. While zero-days are hard, …

I have a gallery of product images in an e-commerce site which the client wants to "pop-out" on rollover. I wrote this CSS style to do it however while it works fine in Firefox .. not so in IE10. Can anyone suggest a work-around with this code that will support cross browser? Any help would be much appreciated. <style type="text/css"> #btnProduct{ -webkit-opacity: 0.5; -moz-opacity: 0.5; } #btnProduct:hover{ -webkit-transform: scale(1.06,1.06); -moz-transform:scale(1.06,1.06); } </style> And on each image: <a href="#"><img src="images/SC-Brand-buttons_30.png" width="200" height="193" border="0" id="btnProduct" onMouseOver="mOver(this);" onMouseOut="mOut(this);"/></a>

Hello, Whilst writing this I actually fixed the issue but I thought I'd post anyway as this technique might be useful to others... I have a javascript class I wrote (alas I can't post the whole code as the IP technically belongs to the company I work for) which presents 3 drop down boxes, 1 for day, 1 for month and 1 for year. If you select an invalid date (eg 30th feb), it automatically updates itself to a near correct date (eg 28th feb) the class handles leap years. This sadly doesn't work in chrome and I'd appreciate if …

I'm having trouble with cross-browser compatibilty with a jQuery click function. I want it to return the width of #bbox and have it play the animations based on what it returns. I have set the width of #bbox to 0px in my CSS as the starting state. THE PROBLEM: w returns as 0px as the starting state in Firefox, but in Chrome and IE it returns fractions of a pixel, which screws everything up. Has anyone encountered this type of thing before? $('div').on('click', '#browse', function() { var w = $("#bbox").css('width'); if (w != '0px' && w != '0') { $("#bbox").stop().animate({'width': …

Microsoft has published an [advance notification](http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/security/bulletin/ms13-jan) for vulnerabilities that will be patched in the January 2013 'Patch Tuesday' security bulletin due next week. However, anyone hoping for a permanent fix to deal with the Internet Explorer zero-day exploit that surfaced during the seasonal holiday period is going to be disappointed. There is no IE patch in this bunch, and while that might be a bit of a surprise to some given that IE security bulletins have become a very regular experience of late, the truth is that to expect a zero-day fix from Microsoft just a week or so after …

IE as well as a few other os/browser combinations are ignoring my image borders. The blocks in the left hand sidebar should have border images. They show up perfectly on my windows pc on all browsers except IE. My client can't see the borders on Snow Leopard Safari on her mac. 2. The fluid navigation background is not extending the width of the browser on my client's mac OSX on the secondary pages. …

The applet is signed, and will be deployed in a secure zone. I just need it to work on IE (for now), further cross browser compatibility will be developed as time goes by. using a simple static HTML page, the browser can …

Hey guys, I'm having a bit of trouble with my gradient button. It looks great on Webkit, but when I try writing the gradient for FF, Opera, and IE, it doesn't work. Here is my gradient code for Webkit: background-image:-webkit-gradient(linear, left top, left bottom, color-stop(0%, rgba(135,224,253,1)), color-stop(25%, rgba(83,203,241,1)), color-stop(50%, rgba(5,171,224,1))); I'm wondering how I can write this for FF, Opera, and IE to get *exactly* the same results.

Over the last couple of days the online media seems to have gone crazy for the news that the Google Chrome web browser client has overtaken Microsoft Internet Explorer to become the most popular browser on the planet. This based entirely upon the fact that, for a single week, and according to figures from the StatCounter service, Chrome reached a 32.76% share against the 31.94% share enjoyed by Internet Explorer. But does this really mean that Chrome is now the number one client, and should web developers be giving more design love to it than Internet Explorer as a result? …

I have a tabbed container on this page: http://www.jamball.com/2012/09/test_5.html that acts funny in old IE. A lot of our customers seem to be unwilling or unable to update their browsers, so is there a way to fix it? The tabs all spread across and to the right, instead of falling squarely behind one another as the respective tab is chosen. I've added my code below, if that helps. I've tried encasing the container in a fixed table as well as aligning it all to the left. I'm not sure about the floating aspects, and it might even be the position …
