I use a Compaq presario(SR1130IL) desktop with a MV 5500 CRT 15 inch monitor. The system is 3 years old and has been running smoothly so far. The monitor has a manual control on the front to adjust the contrast, brightness, screeen size etc. On pressing a circular button a blue panel appears from where you adjust the brightness, contrast manually.

Since the last few days this panel (blue) has been flashing on and off even though i am not pressing any button. What is the problem??

Its kinda getting very annoying, because the blue panel appears above all windows at 100% contrast (hurts the eye).

Do I need to call Compaq???

wow ,never heard of such a thing ,are you surethat the button isn't dirty and stuck in a bit .
