Hi there - I've had loads of problems with power supply to my vaio, for ages the dc port on my machine was loose and would only charge when it was plugged in at a wonky angle. Anyway last week the battery went down 2 zero and the the machine will only work with the cable plugged in.
I've since got the dc port fixed, but the batteries still not chwarging - does this mean its caput? is there anything I can do to sort it or shoul I just bite the bullet and buy a new one?

if the laptop works when you have it plugged in ,and its not charging the battery then its likely kaputt! my old ibm battery only charges enough to turn it on and then it tells me to plug it in quick

The batt. may or may not be dead. However, it's easier to replace than try to fix burned power connection pins/slots. Lot less aggravation.
