My PC Hangs whenever i insert a CD or DVD on my LG DVD writer and when i restarts PC it take very long time. For this I have to remove the SATA cables of hardisk and reinsert them. After this my PC behaves normally but problem starts whenever I insert any disk.
My previous DVD writer was also giving same problems so i replace it in warranty but the new one is also same.
My PC vendor told me to format the PC. Is this a right solution

I interchange sata cables slots whenever PC freezes. After that PC work fine for some time but later it freezes again. Also device manager dont show any errors
have you tried to load BIOS defaults? not really sure if this will help but sometimes it does..is your PC preloaded with the OS when you got it? or you install it yourself? if ever you installed it yourself then is that the drive you used to install?
