I don't know what caused it but a high pitch sound is heared through my speakers when my cpu is ''loaded'' or the drives are busy.I know it's normal but the volume of it is inexplainably high and annoying! It may be a malfunction of the on-board sound chipset...
Any ideas?

It's most likely the drives causing noise over your speaker line from EMF. The only ways you can combat this is by using digital out to a speaker set that has a digital port, i.e. Creative Inspire line. You'd have to make sure your sound card supports this though.

Well the sound is heard even when my drives aren't busy.I tried another set of speakers but it didn't work.Even the second ticking from the internal clock is heard if I turn the volume up a bit more!
The only way then is by buying a pci sound card ?

ps:What is the EMF?
