Have only just learned about processors with 'extensions'. Apparently, one can have an X86 processor with 64bit extensions. Seeking guidance on how this works.

- Does an X86 processor perform 64bit processing?

- Could such a processor meet the requirements of software designed for 64bit processing?

- Who makes such processors/

- Would an image of such a processor have distinguishing features that could be seen?

Much thanks in advance for an informed opinion

I think, X86 not perform like 64bit, because of X86 design for be 32bit.
